Class Experience

In this comprehensive class, students will learn every step of creating a picture book—from brainstorming ideas to the final publication. Sessions are designed to support individual styles.

Class Experience:  
- What will be taught?
Story structure, illustration techniques, and publishing options.
- Topics covered:
Writing tips, drawing characters, and formatting for print.
- Class structure:
Weekly 45-minute sessions with project work and discussions.
- Teaching style:
I promote exploration and personal expression through guided activities.
- Interaction:
Students will interact with me during class and can reach out via messages as needed.

Learning Goals

Students will learn how to conceptualize, write, illustrate, and publish their picture books, gaining valuable skills in storytelling and design.

Other Details

Supply List
Students will need sketch paper or a graphic software for character and scene development. It is highly recommended for serious author-illustrators, to have an installed version of Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop / Illustrator / InDesign).
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
We will be referencing material for learner's inspiration and understanding of format, structure, and story telling with pictures.
