Class Experience

In this lesson students will be shown how to setup an independent computer (or their gaming computer) to serve as a Minecraft server. We will cover the specs of a computer for hosting a Minecraft server, how to configure it and how to ensure functionality. Next, look at how to configure your home network router for port forwarding to let others outside your network join the server you create. After covering how to setup your own Minecraft server, we will then look at free options for remote hosting in case you don't want to use your primary computer for setting up the server.
** Students will learn advanced skills and might require adult supervision for assistance configuring their routers and computer. Student will also need to be able to edit files, extract files, and be able to do some light data manipulation of files. Post class students will be given a tutorial to help them do the things they learned in class.
