***Please read class description- this class uses Minecraft as a reference tool to learn about animal adaptations and biomes. This is an unplugged class and does not include a technology component*** We do not log into Minecraft during this class*** Please note: This is not a class on how to play Minecraft. Through teacher created slideshow, visuals, and discussion, students will learn about animal adaptations using Minecraft animals. Students will also explore how these adaptations help animals survive in their biomes. Students will be presented with adaptations and predict how these adaptations aid survival. The culminating activity will include creating/drawing their own Minecraft animal with unique adaptations that help it survive in their chosen biome. Students will then share their animal and explain how their animal's adaptations help it to survive.
Learning Goals
Students will learn about animal adaptations and how these adaptations help animals survive in their biomes. Students will explore specific biomes(jungle, plains, taiga) and create their own Minecraft animal using drawing tools.
