Class Experience

US Grade 4 - 5
Beginner - Intermediate Level
This class is a good fit for students that will be learning how to multiply multiple-digit numbers in the upcoming school year. Students in this class should know the multiplication facts.

The class will begin each day with a review of the multiplication facts and then a quick Kahoot game. Next, the vocabulary word factors will be explained and discussed. During the lesson, I will model on the Zoom whiteboard how to multiply by 1, 2, and 3-digit numbers using the I do, we do, you do strategy. The students will be given many opportunities to multiply and divide fractions. The students will interact with me using Zoom whiteboard and Google slides.

The following lessons will be taught.
Day 1. Multiplication fact practice with Kahoot, Multiply 2 digits by 1-digit numbers using partial products, standard algorithm, and area model
Day 2. Multiplication fact practice with Kahoot, Multiply 2 digits by 2-digit numbers using the partial products
Day 3. Multiplication fact practice with Kahoot, Multiply 3 digits by 2-digit numbers using the standard algorithm
Day 4. Multiplication fact practice with Kahoot, Multiply multi-digit numbers using the box method and the break-apart strategy
