Students will learn how to create colorful patterned friendship bracelets. Friendship bracelets are given to one’s bestie as a symbol of friendship. It is made up of simple knotting techniques, a type of macramé, used to create beautifully decorative patterns. These unisex bracelets are great for teenagers, children and even adults. Tradition has it that one ties the bracelet onto the wrist of a friend and makes a wish at that moment. The bracelet is worn until it naturally falls off, at that time, the wish is believed to come true. During this session, students will learn how to create a Spiral bracelet and a Candy Stripe bracelet (as pictured). This class is great for beginners who have never made a friendship bracelet. Due to the length of each project, students will begin the project in class and will finish it on their own.
