Class Experience

Parents, please be sure your learner has at least a free personal Soundtrap account created before the start of class. 

This course is an interactive introduction to Soundtrap. Soundtrap is a web-based digital audio workstation that is easy to sign up for and easy to use. After exploring the software, learners will describe their findings and be walked through important information about each different feature. Students will create music using the basic music making features in Soundtrap.
Students will understand some of the niche vocabulary commonly used in various digital audio workstation.

In addition to Zoom, this course will also require students to have a Soundtrap account. 
Follow these steps to open a Soundtrap account:
1. Go to soundtrap.com
2. Click "Join Now" (please make sure you are under the "Music Makers" tab
3. Click "Personal Use"
4. Click either "Sign up with Google" or "Sign up with email instead"
5. If you clicked "Sign up with email instead", fill in the requested information
6. If prompted to "Choose Plan" select the "Free User" account

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Soundtrap

I will be using formative assessments throughout the lesson to check for student understanding.

55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

This course will use Zoom and requires at least a free Soundtrap account in order to participate. It is ok if you decide to buy one of the paid versions, but it is not required.
