The Building Bricks Club is a relaxed atmosphere where learners can come each week to build together, be creative, and have fun. This is an ongoing club that will meet once a week focusing on exercising your creative muscles and having fun at the same time. This is a community of creative thinkers who enjoy building with building bricks, blocks, or other building toys. Club will allow learners to be creative, socialize, collaborate, build, and have fun! Each class will begin with a short time of Show & Tell where learners can show something they’ve built. It is not required, but each learner will be given the opportunity to share one item if they choose. Next, learners will be given a challenge theme (ie. at the amusement park, electronic devices, your favorite food, etc.). Together, we will collaborate and brainstorm possible builds related to the theme. learners will use creative and abstract thinking, trial and error, and problem solving to build objects of their choice. They will have the remaining class time to finish their build focusing on being creative and adding details. Along the way, we will discuss what they are building, what issues (if any) they've run into, and how they’ve worked through those issues. There will be time for learners to share what they’ve built with the other club members so we can all get ideas and learn from each other. *There are NO timed challenges in this class. There is no specific amount or type of building bricks, blocks, or other building toys required for this class. Come with what you have and let’s have some fun building together! *Each learner must be registered to attend the class; however, siblings/friends can share a screen to participate in the class. *Please make sure your learner knows how to find and use the Mute/Unmute button. There are times when a learner’s background is noisy. Their mic will be muted by the teacher so the class and the learning and thinking processes are not disrupted. Your learner will then have to unmute their mic in order to talk. Zoom will not allow teachers to unmute mics anymore. *Note to parents…I will be offering the Building Bricks Club at different times and on different days in order to accommodate more learners and learners in different time zones. Please only sign-up for one section. The challenge themes can be the same in all sections during the week. Thank you for your understanding and help in this matter. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions. LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies which does not sponsor, authorize, or endorse this class.
