Beginner - Intermediate Level
In our personalized 1:1 iMovie lesson, students will learn the essential skills to confidently edit videos for school projects, social media, or even their own YouTube channel. Throughout the session, students will explore the core functions of iMovie, including importing footage, cutting and arranging clips, adding transitions and effects, working with audio, and exporting polished videos. Each session is tailored to the student’s needs and skill level, with sessions focused on building their expertise step by step. We’ll work on hands-on projects, such as creating YouTube-ready content, or editing a personal project they’re passionate about. By the end of the session, your student will have a strong foundation in video editing I teach through a combination of live demonstrations, interactive editing exercises, and collaborative feedback. Whether your learner is a complete beginner or has some experience with editing software, our session will give them the confidence and tools to bring their video ideas to life. They’ll walk away with not only the ability to edit professional-quality videos but also the knowledge to produce content for platforms like YouTube, where they can share their work with the world.

Learning Needs
Private sessions are designed to support students with unique learning needs, including ADHD, Dyslexia, and ASD, by offering step-by-step instruction and a flexible, engaging environment.
Parental Guidance
We will be using the editing program, iMovie, and students may need help adding the program to their computer, iPhone or iPad.
We may watch short film clips, all rated PG. These clips will be screened via screen share, so students won’t need access to YouTube.
Pre-Requisites
No prior experience or prerequisites are required for private sessions. Learners of all skill levels are welcome to join.

Over the years, I’ve taught filmmaking, video editing, and media production across various settings, including New York Film Academy, Columbia University, and private tutoring. My teaching experience spans middle school to university-level students, with a focus on hands-on learning, project-based instruction, and creative mentorship.
