About Mr. Liberman
Mr. Liberman has his Masters in Teaching from the University of San Francisco and has been teaching Social Studies and Computer Science the last 3 years in San Francisco and have recently moved to Palm Desert to be closer to my family. Even though Mr. Liberman enjoys staying in with a good video game or movie, he loves being out in nature hiking, running, playing sports, or in the water!
Mr. Liberman loves teaching and has even been nominated for awards for his teaching style:
"Mr. Liberman stands out for his commitment to helping students learn and thrive. He has always been (even before Shelter in Place) responsive to questions from parents and students. He keeps everyone (including parents) posted on the latest assignments and lessons. He was one of the teachers to effectively roll out his lesson plans for Distance Learning. Since day one, my child has been learning. He was able to lead the class and not miss a beat. He keeps parents updated and is transparent with his expectations for his students and their work. He is very responsive, returning emails quickly. He epitomizes teaching."-Nominated 5/2020 https://www.sfusd.edu/2020-rave-nominees
How does Mr. Liberman Teach?
Mr. Liberman's classes are project-based and collaborative. Students will be building animations and apps for smartphones, and learn how to give positive and constructive feedback to their peers. Completing one of Mr. Liberman's Computer Science courses will get you prepared for any of the AP Computer Science courses or for learning any text-based coding language.
What's Mr. Liberman's Computer Science Background?
Mr. Liberman has been developing Computer Science curriculum for kids since 2013. It all started in college, after success with an introduction to Computer Science course, Mr. Liberman was hired to be the TA for the class, holding office hours to help students, and teaching the class when the professor was absent. He then helped a local media arts middle school teacher bring coding to his classroom. After that success, he was hired to create a Computer Science curriculum that built on itself between 5th-8th grade for a non-profit summer camp that is still in use today.
