1 in-class hoursClass Experience
LAST CLASS IS ON 10/31: The class will begin with a brief presentation in which I will give the children some general information about Dia De Los Muertos, which is a combination of the ancient Aztec custom of celebrating ancestors and a holiday brought to Mexico by the Spanish in the 1500s. The focus will be kept child friendly and festive, yet educational. We will then create a sugar skull, a decoration used during this holiday which occurs over November 1st and 2nd. I will perform the project with the children providing step-by-step instruction done first in pencil, followed by outlining with black sharpie, and coloring in the decorative elements of the picture. Children will have a lot of room for creativity as well as using any coloring instruments they wish. During the class I will also include Spanish vocabulary as it pertains to the picture (i.e. skull, teeth, eyes, colors, flowers, etc.). At the end of the class we will share our work, children do not need to do so if they are uncomfortable with that. The majority of the class will be dedicated to our artwork.

Supply List
Learners should have a piece of paper (we will be lightly folding it to create "guidelines"), pencil with eraser, black sharpie, and coloring instruments. I will be using markers as I find they work well with this project due to their vibrancy and ease of which to deal with more detailed coloring.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
