Description

Class Experience

This class allows learners to learn about what a rainforest is, and how it is a valuable ecosystem. This class allows learners to harness their skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM), and Mindfulness, making it a well rounded class for your learner(s). 
I am an experienced conservation educator. I have a certification on being a compassionate educator from Jane Goodall's Roots and Shoot Program, and Project WILD certified as well.
Learners will provide their own crafting materials to make their diorama during this course. For the first class, a shoebox (or any good sized box), brown construction paper (or any brown paper), and glue will be necessary. For the following weeks, materials may include, but are not limited to: 1. crafting materials, like construction paper, pipe cleaners, felt, pom poms - any crafting materials already available in your home will work. Be creative! 2. natural materials, like twigs, leaves, pine cones, rocks, 3. Blocks 4. animal and nature toys 5. glue 6. scissors Use your creativity and resourcefulness to create a rainforest diorama that is unique and wonderful - just as you are unique and wonderful!
In this flexible schedule class, learners are assessed depending on the pictures they share of their progress and finished project to the teacher and the class. Feedback is provided by the teacher to allow each learner create a project in a caring and supporting environment.
No live meetings, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please make sure appropriate safety measures are in place when using sharp and hot tools (scissors, hot glue, etc.) during this course. Children should be assisted by a capable guardian, family member, or adult when using these tools. Thank you for your cooperation.
