The Christmas season is upon us! What better way to show someone you love them than with a personalized picture slideshow! This Christmas themed art and music class will teach young learners how to create a fun photo slideshow with their own Christmas music to share with friends and family. First, we’re going to go through the steps of making a fun Christmas song using the iPad and GarageBand, exploring the different instruments and loops, such as the piano to build chords, the drums to make the beat and some horns and strings for the melody. Next, we’ll use iMovie, another free iPad app, to create the slideshow using a few of your favorite pictures. We’ll also add some personal touches, and you’ll be able to download your child's slideshow to share with friends and family through email and social media! This class was created for smaller groups of 2-4 students, so that learners can get the most out of the two 1-hour sessions. My iPad will be screen cast so that students will be able to see the exact steps of each section and how to recreate them. I will be guiding each section of the song, through Zoom, step-by-step so that learners can follow along. Students can ask questions throughout the lesson, in case they need some more explanation, and we will discuss how to resolve these issues as we work our way through the song. We'll move at a comfortable pace so that everyone can keep up during the music writing process. This class is for all skill levels, so let your young learner bring their creativity to class, and in no time they’ll create a great slideshow to share as a gift for friends and family! See you in the classroom!
