Our children are growing up in a world that can seem negative, loud, and scary. Some people will tell them they're too small, too young, or too...."whatever." Every child has a level of uniqueness to them that can act as their biggest strength during times of need, and when children understand who they are and what makes them so special, not only do they identify their values and passions, but they also become more confident and self-accepting individuals. So, how do we teach our kids what their values or passions are? As adults, we can't tell our kids who they are or what they're supposed to grow up and become. That's up for them to decide through the power of SELF-DISCOVERY, which is a fundamental life skill used for personal growth. When young learners participate in Self Discovery exercises at an early age, it teaches them a great deal of self-acceptance and confidence, which allows them to understand how to be comfortable with who they are. In this Self-Discovery course, your child will identify their values and passions while participating in fun Wings of Fire themed activities and exercises! Learners will also create their own dragon based on their self-discovery findings, and share what strengths and values it has with the class. Course Outline: - Intro and Class Overview - Ice Breakers / Student Introductions - Warm-Up Game (Guess that dragon) - Self Discovery Exercises (We will discuss what makes us the happiest, what we value, what our strengths are, and what we're passionate about). - Create a dragon based on what we learned. - Share with the class
Learning Goals
Learners will discover/better understand their values, passions, and gain self-acceptance and confidence through the power of self discovery.
