What's included
1 live meeting
45 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Join me for an adventure through history to learn about the famous Impressionist artist, Claude Monet and help him draw and paint a beautiful landscape masterpiece. In this one-time class, students will travel back in time to learn educational facts about Impressionism, draw, paint, share, and have fun! We will discover Impressionism, Monet as an artist, and his paintings. We will imagine what it would be like to be one of Monet’s apprentices (assistants) in his art studio. We will improve our artistic skills and techniques whilst we paint a landscape to help Monet! Children will have the opportunity to share their artwork with the rest of the students who will all be apprentices in Monet’s studio. I use a teaching technique called directed drawing. I simplify the drawings down into simple lines and shapes and show how to draw each step of the way. Learners will improve their drawing skills, as well as their listening and comprehension skills. Students will also learn related history and geography. We will also use our imagination and have lots of fun whilst we learn! I look forward to meeting your budding artists in class!
Learning Goals
Students will learn about one of the most famous artists in the world, Claude Monet. They will learn about Impressionism and paint their own landscape in the Impressionist style.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a Masters in Art History and have advanced training in fine arts drawing and painting. I have also taught drawing and painting to University Students and have been a homeschool teacher for a small group of preschoolers. In my classroom children create their own masterpieces whilst they learn about an interesting and educational subject. I am passionate about teaching children through Art History and the Arts. Children can learn so much about our world through these subjects. History, Culture, and Geography are just three subjects that are incredibly interwoven within Art History and the Arts. Learning from this perspective makes learning fun and engaging. I love seeing children grow and encouraging them on their learning journey. My goal is to make every child feel special and that they can achieve anything to which they put their minds.
