Students will be guided through a step-by-step process of illustrating their own jellyfish. The class begins with brief introductions by the teacher, and students, (if they are comfortable), followed by a four-step lesson. The first step involves creating a new canvas, and adding a layer for the jellyfish. Next students will create the pen work for the main outline, exercising and developing hand control, to create positive and negative space within the artwork. The third step consists of powerful selection methods to isolate the outline of the jellyfish, and allow for selective coloring. The forth step takes the students through the coloring stage where they will use airbrush techniques to paint their jellyfishes through a blended, multi-color process.
