Class Experience

1. Students will learn the basics of composition in illustration
2. Students will receive step by step instructions on drawing a unique unicorn
3. Students will learn about giving and receiving feedback
As a professional artist, I find great joy in exploring fun art styles. As a mom and teacher I have learned that kids in this age group tend to love Kawaii art across the board. Creating an illustration together with kids offers them the ability to make artistic choices and to keep their brains energized and engaged with the creating process.
Finish outlining and coloring your Halloween illustration, using whatever medium you most like to color (paint, colored pencil, gel pens, oil pastel, your choice!) Come back to the classroom and post your finished masterpiece.
Teacher will provide printables of the drawing instructions for learners to take with them. During class, they will need a pencil with eraser, a black pen for outlining, such as a Sharpie marker, and a blank piece of paper. It may be best for learners to have several sheets in case they want to start over.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
The learner progress is assessed by teacher and peer feedback, and if they wish to have their artwork shared online, they can come and see how other people love their art
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
