Crazyfable- Art Improv With Hakeem’s Hotdog by Award-Winning Artist Bryan Niven

* Students WILL NOT need an iPad, Procreate, or any art supplies, as they will be the DIRECTORS of the art, while Mr. Niven draws, and manipulates the artwork. 

This class is designed to provide children with a fun, safe place to be themselves, think creatively, and be silly. During the class students will learn how to express themselves, and interact with others. This class is perfect for those who are outgoing as well as those who are more shy or reserved. The overall class takes an improvisational approach to art by letting the students choose wacky ingredient combinations to create Hakeem’s NYC hotdog. After brief introductions by the instructor and students, Mr. Niven will set the stage for the story of Hakeem’s Hotdog. Mr. Niven will then use the iPad drawing application, Procreate, to illustrate the story live, while students help Mr. Niven know what they want on Hakeem’s hotdog. This project will be taught using state-of-the-art, screen-sharing technology, using Zoom, allowing the students to see and hear Mr. Niven teaching, as well as see his iPad screen as he draws. Mr. Niven’s teaching style is fun and relaxed, yet motivating, which allows the students to feel comfortable, and confident. Bryan builds on principles, techniques and processes, using real-world examples, and motivates his students to use the knowledge gained in class, to create on their own.
