Are you working on the R phonics sound? Is your learner struggling with the letter R blends? This class is designed to give your learner lots of practice with those sounds. This class is not a replacement for, nor is it meant to be speech therapy. Each week in this class, you will use common craft supplies to make two beginning letter R or R blend crafts with instructional videos that your learner can easily follow along with needing minimal help from you. Learners will learn the beginning letter R and R blend sounds. Learners will learn words that start with the letter R and R blend sounds. Learners will make and share beautiful art. Learners will have fun!
I have been a speech-language pathologist for over 20 years and love to help kids acquire new language and communication skills. I have always loved to help kids create and share. I also love reading and I am very excited to pass the love of reading on to my learners.
Homework Offered
Each week's crafts, games, and quizzes will be expected to be completed by learners by Sunday of the following week in order to keep up with the class.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class

You will need the following supplies for our craft projects: Paper: red (2 projects), yellow (2 projects), white (3 projects), black (6 projects), green (3 projects), light brown, dark brown, skin tone Paint: red, green, brown, skin tone, grey Pipe cleaners: 2 black, 3 green Flexible straw 7 Cupcake Liners in 3-4 different colors 9 medium-large google eyes 2 small google eyes Orange and yellow tissue paper 3 cardboard tubes 1 egg carton cup 4 paper plates 1 paper cup 1 clothespin 12 craft sticks Cotton ball Chopstick or unsharpened pencil 2-4 small bells or beads Yarn or string Decorative stickers Bubble wrap - big enough to wrap around a cardboard tube and leave a tail 2 small black buttons 2 large white pompoms 2 small black pompoms Glue Scissors Tape Paint brushes, cup, apron, and table covering Stapler Black Marker Chalk Optional Supplies: Glue dots or Hot glue gun
Learners will need adult supervision when working with messy art materials, glue, and scissors.
All class materials will be created by the instructor.
