In this class, students will learn how to make and decorate a type of paper, fidget toy called a "kaleidocycle". A kaleidocycle is a foldable toy that looks like it has three sides, but actually has four! The name comes from how this toy looks kind of like a kaleidoscope and the fact that it "cycles" as your turn it. This is a fun class with a simple art project students will be able to decorate, play with, and make more of! ___________________________________ Class structure: • First,...
Students will improve their fine motor skills and artful expression as they learn and practice this paper craft. They will also have a chance to improve their social skills by interacting with other learners in the class while they work and decorate.
I have made many of these and look forward to sharing this awesome craft with others.
• Construction paper (At least two sheets, in your choice of color, but white or a lighter color would be probably best.) • A Ruler • A pair of scissors • A pencil • An eraser • Crayons, markers, colored pencils, etc. (Paint or gel pens will not work for this project.) • Tape (Clear packing tape works best, but regular tape will work as well.)
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be using scissors and tape. Younger students and students with difficulties that could make this a danger to them should have an adult closeby for assistance. (Please remember that Outschool policy requires parents and guardians to stay out of view of the camera.)
