In this camp, we will meet 3 days Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Each day we will make something new: Day 1: Book Safe- You will need a thick book that you can cut the pages, mod podge, a craft knife (please be very careful with this), painter's tape, claps or clothes pins (thicker books will need clamps but you can use clothes pins for the front where you have less pages), pencil, paintbrush, and a ruler. We will carefully cut down into the center of the pages leaving about 1/2 inch around our "pocket". Once we have cut deep enough into the book we will use the mod podge to glue those cut pages together. This will need time to dry so will not truly be finished in class. Day 2 No-Sew T-shirt Bag- You will need an old t-shirt some sharp scissors or fabric scissors, and a ruler. We will cut out the arms and neck, then cut strips for the bottom of the bag. If you want the fringes on the bottom you will tie them right side out and if you don't want them showing you will tie them inside out. Day 3 Colorful Votive Holder- You will need a glass jar or votive holder, tissue paper, mod podge or school glue, water (we want the glue to be thin but not runny), a paintbrush, and paper punches with designs are optional. We will cut out our tissue paper and then use the glue mixture to glue the tissue onto the glass.

Teacher expertise and credentials
California Teaching Certificate in Special Education
Hi my name is Cassi Gardei. I am a mother of 4 awesome kids, 1 girl and 3 boys. I was a preschool teacher for 6 years in a brick and mortar school and was a professional driving instructor for the state of California for 4 years until Covid hit. I have been working with Outschool since Covid started and am a paraeducator for my local school district. Working with children is my passion and helping them learn and understand everything in new and exciting ways, especially with music for the younger kiddos. I have a bacheolors degree in Mild to Moderate Special Education.
I am looking forward to working with your kids in many areas. My favorite subjects were math and science growing up but I teach a multitude of classes from cooking to preschool to core subjects and even Kahoot games. Please do not hesitate to ask me anything, anytime, it comes straight to my phone and I will respond as soon as I can. If you are interested in a class but dont see it on schedule please reach out to me. I also gladly work with groups and will do private tutoring and classes.
