This is the Ultimate Beginners Friendship Bracelets Summer Camp! In this 40-minute teacher-led instructional class: Learn how to make at least eight different friendship bracelets of all kinds for you and your friends. Learn the history behind the friendship bracelet and what the colors you use in your bracelets mean. We will learn how to make the Simple Braid, Two-colored Half-Hitch, Alternating Half-Hitch (called the zipper), the Chinese Staircase, Double Chinese Staircase, the Fishtail,...
We will be learning how to braid with embroidery floss while having time just to relax and make some new friends.
In several of my scouting groups, summer camps and after school programs nothing was more fun than getting a group of children to sit down and make friendship bracelets. Boys and girls alike would sit for hours and make a plethora of bracelets for their friends.
scissors at least 8 different colors of embroidery floss, you may want more painters tape or masking tape a flat surface like a clipboard or a stiff piece of cardboard (I use both) several pieces of small cardboard to wrap up your floss on (think bobbins) small letter or other assorted colored beads if you would prefer, a pillow and safety pin to hold your work down instead of a clipboard or cardboard
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
