Class Experience
I have a degree in elementary education, and I have been homeschooling my own children for over 20 years.
September 7/8 - Popsicle stick airplane - clothespin, colored popsicle sticks, mini colored popsicle sticks, button, markers (optional), paint, paintbrush, something to protect your work surface, glue September 14/15 -Apple tree - card stock/construction paper, empty paper towel roll, green tissue paper, scissors, glue, buttons or pom poms September 21/22 - Paper apple pie - paper plate, tissue paper, construction paper, glue, pencil, scissors September 28/29 - Woven paper placemat - construction paper, scissors, tape and/or glue October 5/6 – Pom pom owl – brown and white yarn, black felt, glue, cardboard, printout October 12/13 – Jack-o-lantern garland – orange and green construction paper or card stock, black marker, glue, string or twine October 19/20 – NO CLASS October 26/27 – Paper bag haunted house - paper lunch bag, scissors, glue, construction paper or card stock November 2/3 – Poppy Wreath for Veteran’s Day on November 11 – egg carton, red paint, paper plate, glue November 9 - Accordion fold turkey - construction paper, tape and/or glue, scissors, markers, googly eyes November 16 - Turkey windsock - empty tin can, streamers and/or ribbons, construction paper, feathers, googly eyes, string, tape, glue, scissors November 23 - Thankfulness tree - printout, brown marker, construction paper, glue November 30 - Christmas pencil toppers - felt, glue, scissors, embellishments such as sequin, small pom poms, etc. December 7 - Pipe cleaner ornaments - pipe cleaners, glue, scissors, yarn and/or ribbon December 14 - Snow globe - empty jar with lid, water, glitter, glue, glue gun, plastic figure, ribbon (optional), glycerin (optional, but helps the glitter float) January 4 - Corner page bookmark - Printout provided prior to class, colored pencils, crayons, or markers, tape, glue, scissors January 11 - Sock snowman - white sock, any color sock, rubber band, rice, paint or markers, glue or glue gun, felt or pom pom, buttons, ribbon January 18 - Yarn wrapped initial - Cardboard, optional printout, yarn January 25 - Snowflake suncatcher - Copy paper, scissors, contact paper, tissue paper, yarn or string February 1 - Groundhog scene - Construction paper, glue, scissors February 8 - Valentine card - Construction paper or cardstock, copy paper, tissue paper, glue, water, thick paint brush, small container for mixing glue and water, hole punch, yarn, tape, scissors February 15 - Aluminum foil art - Cardboard, printout, glue stick (Elmer's or something similar), glue gun with refill glue sticks, aluminum foil, Sharpies February 22 - Straw rockets - Printout, markers or colored pencils, tape, wide drinking straw, thin drinking straw, scissors March 1 - Paper plate llama - Paper plate, printout, cardstock, markers or colored pencils, tape, scissors, googly eyes March 8 - Leprechaun trap - Printout, cardboard box, construction paper, markers, glue, scissors, string, pencil, tape March 22 - Easter bunny basket - Paper cup, printout, pipe cleaners, construction paper, googly eyes, glue, scissors March 29 - Washcloth bunny - Washcloth, rubber bands, ribbon, pom pom April 5 -
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Parental guidance is recommended as students will be using scissors and glue.
