Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! Welcome to Outschool!
My journey as an educator began while I was in college. I have 23 years experience working with learners of all ages in both formal and non formal learning environments.
I became a certified teacher in 2005 and have taught both in the public and private school systems in both Connecticut and South Carolina(15 years off and on).I taught all subjects from grades 3-6. Online I mainly teach Social Studies: American history from early explorers to Ellis Island/immigration for grades 3-6. I am honored to say that I have taught learners on Outschool for two years.
My educational background is in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I have a Masters in Teaching.
In addition to teaching online, I home school my two girls (6 and 9). I love learning new things every day and sharing in the joy of wonder and discovery with my 3 children as they explore the world around us.
My favorite subjects are Social Studies and Science. I have taught Mad Science classes in the past. I love hands on activities that encourage students to ask questions, use critical thinking skills, and inspire them to research further or create something new. I am very excited to be your instructor and look forward to being a part of your learning journey!
