Class Experience
Students will gain a better understanding of the physical and human geography of countries all over the world. The study of Geography has so much to offer.
Certified Secondary Social Science Teacher (Geography, Economics, Government & History) BS in Secondary Education - Social Science Composite AAS in Hotel & Restaurant Management I am a Texas-Certified High School Geography teacher and Middle School World Studies teacher. I have ten years of experience teaching in the public schools in Texas. My expertise is in Geography, Economics, and the Culinary Arts. I am a former unschooling mom
None, except students are expected to print out the appropriate maps and map locations for each of the countries. I will post the pdf document link to the classroom prior to each meeting. Please look for the links to the maps in the classroom. I only send links to individual students if they have enrolled after the links have been posted to the classroom.
Pencil Eraser Set of colored pencils Students will need access to a printer so they may print out the PDF maps I send them. These maps should be printed out before class so that they may be used during class. Sometimes we might use more than one map.... it all depends on the country.

All assessments are informal. These lessons are meant to be relaxing and are really just an introduction to the countries we will study since we only have 55 minutes. I will usually end the class with a short and fun quiz-like game.

I will most likely discuss the history of many of these countries. We all know that history is full of disturbing, yet important events. These events may be discussed, but not in great detail. The age and sensitivities of the students will be respected.
