Do you have a child who loves to play with cars and trucks? If so, why not take advantage of that passion to help them develop important skills that will lead to future mathematics and numeracy success. Students will utilize their cars and trucks to learn how to count to five and develop mathematics and numeracy skills through the practice of 1:1 correspondence, which is the ability to assign exactly one number to an item (car or truck) that is being counted. Many children can count fairly easily, however, they may not fully understand the meaning of each number. Who says learning math can’t be fun?
