Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been loving my career as an educator to elementary-age children for five years. After graduating from college in 2016, I was hired as a first-grade teacher at a public school. I had all the responsibilities of a public-school educator. I gained experience in curriculum, classroom management, scheduling and so much more.
During my third year teaching first grade; when I was given the opportunity to teach in Thailand, I knew it was time to take my experience elsewhere. I taught first-grade English, math, science, and health to English language learners, as well as kindergarten English conversational skills in Thailand. Although I enjoyed my time in Thailand; in March 2020 I returned home.
I then found myself teaching two second graders and two third graders in a homeschool learning pod. In this position, I was creating a curriculum catered to student interest and of course the grade level requirements. I was able to use my creativity as an educator.
Although I’ve taught most subjects, I always found myself gravitating towards art integration. Art was my minor in college; It’s something I enjoy and do on my own time as a hobby. I am incredibly excited to offer classes that integrate art in reading, writing, math, social studies, and science with elementary or middle school-aged students.
In my spare time, I enjoy walking my dogs, hiking, traveling, spending time at the beach, and doing anything to do with art. Whether it be home decor, painting, drawing, etc. it’s what makes me feel like me! Can’t wait to meet YOU!
