This one-time class offers your student a hands-on (or “mouse-on”) approach to learning how to count back change properly. Through an interactive presentation that includes a step-by-step process, examples, and exercises, your student will be introduced to the world of customer service and counting back change properly. This class also offers an optional handout and worksheet to allow your students to follow along on paper as well. The teacher will lead the class to problem-solve and properly count back change to customers in many different scenarios. *Although this lesson requires no prior knowledge of counting back change, your student should be familiar with the values of U.S. dollars and coins.

Students will learn mental math skills necessary to count back change properly using an interactive presentation, examples, and exercises.

I have tutored math privately for 3 years to students ranging from 5th grade to 12th grade. I am employed at a university as a student math tutor where I tutor College Algebra through Calculus 1. Within this job, I also teach an entry level remedial math class to incoming college freshmen who need a little extra help with the basics of math before moving onto general education classes. I have also completed 20 hours of public school middle school math classroom observations. I have taken and passed the OSAT (Oklahoma Subject Area Test) for Middle School Mathematics and plan to take the Advanced Mathematics OSAT soon. I am a CRLA certified tutor, in which I have gone through ten hours of professional tutor training in order to learn how to meet students’ needs.
