We will practice writing our FIRST names (last name work on at home for privacy reasons), practice identifying all 26 letters of alphabet, counting 1-20, recognizing shapes (square, circle, triangle, rectangle specifically), and work on being able to read/recognize sight words from the pre-k Dolch list as well as introduce a few K list words!
I have 6 years experience as a public school teacher in grades 1 and 6. I worked closely with K students and their teachers as a 1st grade teacher anticipating K students' needs. I have 3 years experience as a virtual teacher, and wrapping up my 1st year as an OS teacher, where I have taught 1st grade level classes!
No homework, but practice writing name outside of class is strongly encouraged!
2 files available upon enrollment*I know some students prefer to use an electronic device like a tablet and stylus to practice writing, that is fine. Whatever your preference is (helpful to practice whatever your child's school uses).* "tablet paper" (specifically lined for littles!) Pencil Eraser *I will provide a downloadable tablet paper you may print and use, or use on a device to practice if you need it.*
1 hour 30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Jack Hartmann Kids Music Channel videos on YouTube will be used. The videos are used for practicing counting and letters names and sounds. These videos will be shared via "screen share". If you have further questions regarding the videos, please reach out.
