This 3rd grade math prep class helps your child build a strong foundation in key math skills like addition, subtraction, and multiplication through a variety of activities, ensuring they're confident and ready for 3rd grade math success!

Get ready for 3rd grade math! In our 3rd grade math prep class, you'll strengthen your skills in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and more with fun activities, helping you feel confident and ready to take on the school year!

Students will understand that the digits of a three-digit number represent hundreds, tens, and ones, and they will read, write, and compare numbers up to 1,000.

Place value

Students will solve two- and three-digit addition and subtraction problems using strategies such as place value, number lines, and breaking apart numbers.

Addition and subtraction strategies

Students will understand multiplication as equal groups and arrays, and division as sharing or grouping. They will use models, drawings, and number sentences to represent and solve basic multiplication and division problems.

Multiplication and division concepts

Students will understand fractions as parts of a whole and be able to represent and compare fractions using visual models, number lines, and fraction strips.

Fractions as numbers

Students will tell time to the nearest minute, solve word problems involving money, and measure length using appropriate units of measurement (inches, feet, and centimeters).

Time, money, and measurement

Students will learn how to interpret and create bar graphs, picture graphs, and tally charts, and will use the data to answer questions and solve problems.

Reading graphs and data

Students will identify and classify 2D shapes, and calculate the area of simple shapes like rectangles and squares using unit squares.

Students will develop a strong understanding of numbers by recognizing patterns, understanding place value, comparing numbers, and rounding numbers to the nearest ten and hundred.
