We will begin with some fun music while we count. The first half of the class is focused on counting to 50 and the second half will be counting 100. We will also learn to recognize the numbers and count by 2's, 5's and 10's. It is a good review for the kindergartner and 1st grader and a great start for counting for the pre-schoolers.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to count and recognize the numbers as we count by 1's, 2's, 5's and 10's.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Washington Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
The kinds of classes I teach include elementary phonics, reading, writing, math, and the arts. I have had several years teaching in both public and private schools, teaching K-4th grades and tutoring in the special education departments. I am a professional musician as a flute player, a speech and drama coach for K-12. My passion for teaching is in reading, history and in the arts. Every subject I teach I try to include some kind of music and/or art to further engage the student's learning. Many studies have proven that with music training, students have better standardized test scores and can remember math concepts quicker. Studies have also shown that music can significantly improve the students motor and reasoning skills. I love to sew, design and make my own jewelry and go for long walks and hikes. But above all I love to teach kids and create interactive and fun lessons for children in Kindergarten - 4th grades. We love the outdoors! There is so much to learn from nature!
