Description

Class Experience

Students will learn about the life of a King penguin and many facts about some other types of penguins. They will also learn key vocabulary relating to penguins (chick, hatches, flippers, dive, tobogganing, waddling, balancing and creches)
I was a 1st grade teacher for many years and am passionate about teaching in a way that integrates many subjects at once (reading, writing and science all in one lesson). I love teaching about all science related topics!
No homework is necessary however, follow up activities will be shared at the end of class that learners are encouraged to do to help reinforce their understanding of King penguins.
 1 file available upon enrollment
Pencil, crayons and/or markers, writing paper or you may print out the writing/story penguin paper that I will share before class begins. The book I will be reading is called "Could A Penguin Ride A Bike?" by: Camilla de la Bedoyere. It is not necessary for you to purchase this book for this class. You are welcome to purchase it or view it before the class if you wish. It is currently available on Amazon.com and abebooks.com for roughly $12.00.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment will be based on observation during discussion time.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
