Description

Class Experience

Students will develop the skills necessary to identity healthy versus destructive coping skills for stress, and anxiety. Students will get hands-on experience writing a personalized list of coping skills.
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist and have been working with teens and their families for over 5 years.  I specialize in working with teens who struggle with stress and anxiety.  Beyond working with teens in a clinic setting, I also provide free community-based seminars for teens and their parents.
Students will be encouraged to continue to work one their "working coping skills toolkits" even after the class has finished, but they will not be required to turn anything in.
Students will need something to write on and something to write with. Taking notes on a phone or tablet is also appropriate.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This is a one-time class, and as such progress will be informally assessed.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
I must emphasize that this class is not a group or individual therapy session.
