This course is an extension of Equations and Lines - Part 1. In this course, we study more in-depth situations involving geometric shapes and equations. Problems relating to the equations of medians and altitudes are included.

In this class we will continue discovering relationships between coordinate geometry concepts and traditional geometric situations. More vocabulary will be introduced and problems with more depth will be studied. Medians of a triangle, perpendicular bisectors, altitudes may be included. Verifying the type of triangles through application of coordinate geometry formulas will also be studied. Clear exposure of definitions, concepts, and formulas will ease the organization of note taking for the students, and improve their retention of concepts.
Learning Goals
I hope to guide students to be organized and precise in applying coordinate geometry concepts to traditional situations in Euclidean Geometry.

I am a retired high school math teacher with 34 years of classroom experience, plus an additional 12 years of tutoring and 6 years of volunteer work at the high school. I thoroughly enjoy working with teenaged students.
