I would encourage you to make a simple Behavior Chart of Smiley faces that your Learner will LOVE to see with each act of kindness. Watch those SMILES! https://www.rewardcharts4kids.com/wp-content/uploads/pdf/star-chart.PDFClass Experience
In this interactive class we will talk about what it means to Cooperate, how to work together as a team member and what it means to be congenial. Kids know the basic ideas of kindness - they understand how it feels when someone is kind to them, or when someone is unkind. They understand The Golden Rule. They know about sharing and cooperating. They know about being helpful and being hurtful, about honesty and about unkind words. These are situations that they face on a daily basis – just as adults do! As they grow, their experiences and personal relationships change and grow too as it relates to Cooperation and being Congenial. They do not consider "Plays well with others" to reflect their more mature level of friendships... but it is a Life Skill, necessary to revisit and reinforce. More than intelligence or IQ, EQ reflects Emotional intelligence – a measure of empathy and the ability to understand and connect with others. Empathy is the KEY ingredient to Emotional Intelligence, and is the BEST predictor of a child's likely success in school and in in life! We will learn about the amygdala – the feeling center of the brain, and how it learns with every experience, by how you process everything! We will talk about how to train your brain and establish new habits by practicing new skills! We will also talk about the importance of LISTENING, not just "hearing" as we need to gather the information necessary to work as a team player! We will talk about paying attention :) so that we don't miss any important details!

Hello, my name is Molly. My 12 year old granddaughter introduced me to OutSchool and I am delighted to be here for 3 years already!
I have over 30 years of experience in Education at all levels. I earned a Bachelors Degree in Psychology, and a Masters Degree in Education from Xavier University. I was a School Psychologist and worked in several elementary schools, both public and private. I have classroom experience teaching pre-school children and middle school children.
I have 120 hours TEFL Certification, and have taught English as a foreign language to children in China, and to adults in 120 countries. I have LOVED this online format for almost seven years.
I LOVE kids and have a very good rapport with them. As a mother, grandmother, teacher and former School Psychologist, I welcome the chance to help with Life Skills. Class will be fun and funny! Children will make new friends, as they learn about their own SUPER POWER of Kindness! We will focus on one Topic at a time, allowing plenty of time to discuss it together as well how to USE these new skills at home with family! This will be a time of conversation, communication and interaction - and LOTS of fun! Homework will be to USE their SUPER POWER with family! We develop habits by DOING!
Whether you are Home Schooling, looking for a Summer Camp or developing/reinforcing social skills, I feel that my classes will promote not only kindness, but also responsibility, respect, thoughtfulness, manners and gratitude.
I look forward to meeting you soon!
