Class Experience

Beginner - Advanced Level
Let's talk poultry! In this ongoing casual weekly class bird owners and bird lovers can come together to talk about all things chicken, duck, goose, turkey, guinea, pheasant, or anything bird-related. Videos and photos are welcome, and we'd love to meet your birds, if and when possible! Show and tell is highly encouraged!

Each class session will give learners a chance to share about their birds, birds they like, or maybe birds they plan to get. Meetings will feature time for each learner to share weekly updates and talk about any recent birds news or activities. Subjects of discussion may include things like weather or event-related farm activity, changes in circumstance, hatching, adding new farm members, bird interactions, and farm adventure stories.

We will also feature a topic of the week, where learners will discuss specific aspects of bird ownership. Topic examples may include subjects like breed spotlights, bird care, diet, health, flock management, housing options, or other bird-related subjects.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been homesteading for more than 20 years, raising dairy goats, chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys. I also worked as a veterinary technician for more than seven years in a small animal practice. I love to share my love of animals with others, and look forward to sharing anything I can that helps others in their farming and homesteading pursuits.
