In this one time class, students will practice identifying and using different body language techniques in order to increase conversational and social skills in a supported environment.
Class experience
In this one-time class, learners will be introduced to techniques to identify and use body language in order to effectively communicate with peers and teachers alike! The purpose of this class is to encourage learners to think about the conversational skill of body language usage on a deeper level. This conversational skills class will be run in an upbeat and informal setting, allowing for students to gain confidence in using what they've learned in a supported environment.
We...Students will learn to use the art of body language to increase conversational skills and effectively communicate. Students will be introduced to the main components of body language: word choice, tone and non-verbal behavior. In this class, students will be given opportunities to practice identifying and using different types of body language in order to more effectively communicate with peers, teachers and family members.
As a classroom special education teacher, I have taught many social skills lessons in which we focus on communication with peers.
