1-2 hours per week. Students may work on their creative stories outside of the class. Students will be given some time during class to work on their stories as well.Assessment
Students will be assessed on sentence structure and the writing process (editing, revising). Students can get feedback on their stories throughout the course by sharing their Google Doc with me.Class Experience
US Grade 3 - 6
Students will learn how to write a creative story and how to use the writing process while writing a story. At the beginning of each class, there will be creative writing exercises to help students free write. Students will: brainstorm ideas, write a rough draft, edit and revise the draft and then publish a good copy on Book Creator. Week 1: Elements of a creative story, the writing process, brainstorming Week 2: Rough Draft Week 3: Rough Draft/Editing and Revising Week 4: Publish on Book Creator I love to involve and engage all students. I try to create a learning environment where students can all share their ideas and stories.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to write a creative story using story elements and about the writing process (drafting, editing, revising). Students will learn how to publish and design their own book.
