US Grade 4 - 7
Interactive class with students sharing all they know or want to know about each continent, country and culture through games, videos, slideshows and lots of interaction if they wish to participate. Students will be exposed to the 7 continents as we review them every week. They really enjoy the Carmen San Diego Game as well as the countries bingo game they play as one team cooperatively. The following continents along with main countries will be presented using videos, slides and games in terms of geography, animals, food and people; exploring interesting facts from all continents/countries being studied. Students do not need to know anything, just be curious. The following classes will be covered followed by an online geography bingo game: Week/Class 1: Africa (Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda) Week/Class 2: Europe (France, Britain, Spain and Portugal) Week/Class 3: Asia (India, Pakistan, Singapore) Week/Class 4: North America (USA) Week/Class 5: North America (Canada, Mexico) Week/Class 6: Carmen San Diego and Geography Bingo Online Games Week/Class 7: Antarctica (Video trip to the South Pole by a student their age) Week/Class 8: Students can choose a country to know more about or present any country they want (5 to 10 mins). Examples will include: China, Japan and Italy. I value and encourage the students' choices and suggestions and feedback. They have an option to rate the videos with their own star ratings. They look forward to the Geography bingo game in the last 10 - 15 mins to learn the many capitals and flags for each continent. Addiction warning: they will insist on returning every week! A certificate of completion can be requested after they attend 7/8 Classes. Minimum 4 learners.
Learning Goals
Students will learn fascinating and unusual facts to share with others about various countries and cultures. For example, a giant eyeball structure, the world's largest rodent, and lots of animals and food/daily life. Through a geography bingo game, they will interact and learn the capitals and flags of the countries within the 6 continents (no countries in Antarctica!).
They will learn observation skills and share their perspectives o what they see in the videos and slideshows. They will exercise their memories in the fun countries bingo game by guessing the answers as no one knows them all yet including their teacher!

I love travelling, I have been to most continents and lived in Asia for weeks at a time. I have had adventures in London, Spain, Portugal, France, India, Singapore, Japan, Bangkok, etc. My ancestors were from India and migrated to Africa. I was born in Africa where I have been to the safaris recently. I have exciting experiences to share such as riding camels in the sand dunes and elephants in Rajastan and Africa.
