Vocabulary Words: refined, processed, immune system, digestive tract, fiber, fat, protein

Review: Units of measurement used in the recipe.

The teacher will lead the students through a short lesson on the nutritional value of the main ingredients in the recipe: Walnuts, dates, raw cacao powder, sea salt. Step by step guidance, if necessary, will be given to the collective group of students.

***A parent or other adult may assist or be on call to do so, if the student needs help in accomplishing this activity.***

The necessary supplies are listed here, and on the recipe sheet - "Raw Brownies".
The student will choose whether or not they'd like a brownie with a "little" or a "lot" of moisture in the taste of their chocolaty brownies.

Print a copy of the Recipe Shopping List at the end of the lesson (See added files)

Parents can review the list for ingredients to be purchased for the lesson, and non - food items required for completing the recipe:

I am offering this class to give students practical experiences of "Camp Snack!" No-Bake Raw foods are healthy choices for children to make, and the more opportunity they have to try new things, foods, methods of preparations, the more likely they are to develop a habit of choosing healthy foods that they "know something" about.
