Class Experience

Let's make some fun desserts! We will be making a yummy ooey-gooey, cinnamon-flavored coffee cake, deliciously drizzled with a buttery brown sugar topping.

In this class students will learn by doing! There will not be any power points or slide shows; we will jump right into the kitchen and get to cooking! In this class, we will begin at the prep of the food and end with a yummy completed recipe. We will have a continued discussion of the recipe while cooking, along with socializing about hobbies, favorite dishes, etc.

Students should have basic knowledge of cooking. For example, the learner should be familiar with working a stove top, oven, microwave, blender, mixer, food processor, etc. I will go over these things in class but students should have a little prior knowledge, as it can be difficult to help with these things without being hands on!

In class, we will follow instructions prior to baking the bread. Students will put their bread in the oven in class, but will complete baking on their own. There are no steps after baking, and baking will take approximately 50 minutes. Students will be given instructions on how long to bake and cool prior to leaving class. Once the student is finished, they are encouraged to share a photo/review of the taste with me on the classroom discussion. Students are also encouraged to share a photo/video of themselves cooking or their finished dish.

The goal of this course is to provide the student with new skills, confidence in the kitchen, social skills, and of course, yummy recipes for the whole family to enjoy!

*I will NOT be cooking every class. I will, however, be demonstrating with my hands and words and have completed hundreds of cooking classes without issue with this technique :)
