Learning goals are also things to remember: 1. Set out all of the utensils and ingredients needed for the recipe. 2. Practice measuring the ingredients using the appropriate kitchen tools. 3 Follow the directions given to prepare the Sun Seed Sea Food.
I am offering this class to give students practical experiences of "Cooking Without Fire!" Raw foods are healthy choices for children to make, and the more opportunity they have to try new things, foods, methods of preparations, the more likely they are to develop a habit of choosing healthy foods that they "know something" about.
4 files available upon enrollmentPurchase the ingredients on the supply list for the recipe. Please note: We will be making the "Sun Seed Sea Food". (Several items may be in your kitchen cabinets already.) Be sure to print out the recipe shopping list for the "Sun Seed Sea Food" to purchase the ingredients needed, and have the equipment needed available.
No assessment is required: Students will determine their own progress by how their finished recipe looks, and tastes.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
***Attention Parents: Please be aware that the "Cooking..w/o.. Fire!" recipes being presented "do" include "fruits, seeds or nuts, that may or may not affect your young "Chef's" allergies. Please ask about possible substitutions for items they are allergic to.*** *** Also, for the benefit of the "Chef's" experiencing preparation of some food items, I encourage them to use a "plastic serrated edge knife" for cutting the onion, celery, cilantro, and avocado. If there is concern about using a plastic knife, please have an adult available to assist your aspiring "Chef" with completing this task, in addition to the shopping for the ingredients.
