Description

Class Experience

Students will work on one of the most important life skills of all - cooking. They will learn about food safety and hygiene. Students will learn cooking tips. Students will practice measuring wet and dry ingredients. 
Day One: Chocolate Chip Bar Cookies

supplies: small bowl to melt butter, whisk, 9x13 baking dish, cooking spray or something else to grease pan, large mixing bowl, spatula, cooking spoon, measuring spoons and cups

1 (15.25 Ounce) Box Yellow Cake Mix
2 Large Eggs
½ Cup Butter, Melted
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
2 Cups Chocolate Chips, Or other candy of choice

Day Two: Brownie Batter Pancakes
Supplies: Large Bowl, Whisk, measuring spoons and cups, medium bowl, small bowl to separate the eggs, small bowl to melt butter, ladle or measuring cup for portioning out batter, griddle or non stick pan

1 box brownie mix
1 ½ cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup milk
¼ cup unsalted butter
2 large eggs, yolks and whites (We will separate during class)
FOR SERVING (OPTIONAL)
chocolate syrup
strawberry, sliced
whipped cream
sprinkles

Day Three: Dessert Pizza (You can make your dessert pizza topped with either fruit or with crushed cookies and candy - whatever you prefer)
Supplies: Cookie Sheet or Pizza Pan with either parchment paper or silicon baking liner, large mixing bowl, whisk, spatula, cooking spoon, measuring spoons and cups, medium mixing bowl, knife and cutting board
1 yellow cake mix
1 egg
1⁄2 cup melted butter 
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup confectioners' sugar
4 ounces Cool Whip Topping
fresh fruit (blueberries, kiwi, strawberries, peaches, etc.) OR candy and crushed cookies

2 hours 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be using the stovetop, knives, and the oven. Parents may need to assist younger learners. 
This recipe may contain ingredients not suitable for children with allergies. If your child has a food allergy, please read over the ingredient list. This recipe contains dairy.
