1-2 hours per week. Learners will follow along to cooking videos created by teacher and posted once a week. They will be required to cook the same recipe and post their final products each week in the classroom. They will write a reflection on each recipe each week. I will also be having students share recipes they find!Assessment
This class is not formally graded. I will provide feedback on photos posted and give suggestions, but this class is meant for learners to enjoy a new passion.Grading
includedClass Experience
As the daughter of a culinary chef, I started cooking at a very young age, as early as four years old! Cooking is not only a necessary life skill, but also a way for children to learn to be creative, and relieve stress. Each class will be a new recipe that will allow learners to try new foods and experiment with a variety of ingredients. We will be making appetizers, desserts, and meals. Learners will use all kitchen appliances with supervision in their home or have ingredients cut prior to class by a parent. I will model the cooking in a video posted every Monday. Children will have the week to replicate the recipe on their own and post a picture of the finished product. This is a hands-on class! I want learners to be able to ask questions, and explore in the kitchen! If any of the recipes have baking time, we will make a second dish during that time as well. This class is interactive and will also allow children to share pictures of their cooking and recipes they find in the classroom. My goal is to teach learners to be confident in the kitchen, have courage to try new things, and work independently when cooking. There is no experience required, but learners must have supervision for safety when using kitchen appliances or using a knife. Please make sure to let me know of any allergies. I will message you to let you know an ingredient you can substitute for a specific ingredient. We will be using the oven, stove, and microwave. I will always let the learners know a week prior of the appliances needed in advance for parent supervision. Learners should share recipes and photos each class in the classroom to spike discussions with classmates. Week 1: Orange Creamsicle Cake Week 2: Lime Bundt Cake Week 3: Classic Chocolate Cake Week 4: Strawberry Pound Cake Week 5: Vanilla Buttermilk Cake *Each week will follow this pattern!

As the daughter of a culinary chef, I started cooking anything and everything at the young age of 4. Finding that passion in cooking, has allowed me to love every type of food, and has taught me not to be a picky eater. One of the most important lessons is to not be afraid to cook with unusual or different ingredients. My goal is to teach learners to be creative, and have courage to try new foods.
