Description
Class Experience
Kids will learn safety around the kitchen and how to properly read and understand following a recipe while preparing a delicious recipe that is guaranteed to impress. We will work on measurements, cooking terms, and why following directions while cooking is imperative. There will be stove work, so kids will learn how to work safely around the stovetop and oven. Kids will also learn proper knife skills and how to cut safely.
I have been working as a kids enrichment teacher for the last 3 years. I love teaching children and allowing them to create and think outside the box. I have a 9-year-old son who is on the Autism Spectrum, so am a very patient and understanding teacher. I realize all children learn differently and it is imperative to really listen to each child in order for them to feel secure and safe.

Safety is the number one priority when in the kitchen. There will be times when we will be using the stovetop and oven. If your learner is young, please be sure to have an adult nearby should they need any assistance. We will also be using a knife, slicing, and peeling apples, so if your learner does not have much experience in the kitchen, adult supervision is needed. microwave.
