Class Experience

I have taught baking classes for young children for 4 years at the recreation department in my hometown. I am excited to bring baking with young cooks to Outschool!
Always have drawing paper and utensils (crayons, markers, colored pencils) on hand. We'll discuss the story and draw together while we wait for our bakes in the oven.

Ingredient and Materials List  (Please see the classroom for each week's specific recipes and amounts):

General Ingredients:
All-Purpose Flour
Brown sugar
White sugar
Baking powder
Baking Soda
Vegetable oil
Cocoa Powder
Cooking spray 

General Materials List for Class:
8-9” round baking pan
9x13 pan
Cookie sheet 
Muffin pan
Cupcake liners 
Dry measuring cups 
Wet measuring cup
Measuring spoons
Large mixing spoon
Soft spatula
Fork or toothpick
Plastic or tableware knife
Hand Mixer/ or stand mixer/ or a strong arm
Parchment paper

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Allergies-All recipes are nut-free, but please look over the listed ingredients to avoid any allergens that may effect your child. Parents will be required to help out on all the parts of our baking project that include heat. Additional assistance guidance- it will be helpful for each family to decide how best to support their young baker during the class based on experience and age.
