In this one-time class I will lead the students step by step to make a very common meal in Germany: Lentil soup. The students can choose if they want to make a vegan/vegetarian dish or one with meat by adding Frankfurter sausages. Students are always encouraged to make food exactly for their own taste, so they will have to taste their soup and choose what herbs to add and such. The class not difficult to master. Ingredients: - brown (uncooked) lentils - potatoes - onion - carrots - celery - leeks - broth (veggie or beef) - fresh parsley - Frankfurter (optional) - vinegar - salt + pepper
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The students will be handling a sharp knife and cook on the stove. Parents should be near if help is needed.
