Description

Class Experience

Students will learn basic kitchen skills: measuring, dicing, chopping, slicing, frying, and plating a dish of rice.

Fried rice is a weekly dish in our home!! In Hawaii rice is eaten almost every day and because of this, leftover rice is often refrigerated or frozen for further use in fried rice dishes. I have experience teaching preteens, teens, and adults how to make this dish.
A complete, detailed list of ingredients is in the “classroom” and available with enrollment: 4 cups of leftover cooked long-grain rice (Jasmine, Basmati, etc.) Toasted Sesame oil Oyster Sauce Soy Sauce Garlic 1/2 round onion Vegetables Large enough frying Pan to hold 8 cups of ingredients: (I use a large, well-seasoned cast-iron pan) Bamboo/Wooden spoon
1 hour per week in class, and no time outside of class.
Parents are advised: Hot stove, sharp knife, and frying are required for this class.
An adult should be near by to lend assistance if need be when the frying process begins.
