Cooking: Garlic Butter Shrimp

In this class, students will learn how to cook a similar dish found at the famous "Shrimp Trucks" across Oahu. Served on a hot bed of sticky rice, this dish is Onolicious! (Hawaii slang for de-li-cious)

Class Experience

Two popular Shrimp Trucks on Oahu are Giovanni's Shrimp Truck and Romy's. If you ever visit Oahu, a trek to the north shore side of this island and a stop at this land of food trucks is a MUST! You may end up standing in line with a bunch of hungry humans! I joke. But seriously, often there are long lines of tourists and locals waiting for a paper plate filled with garlicy, messy, delicious shrimp!

OR, learn how to make it yourself! Join us!

In this class students will learn to:
1) Prep raw shrimp
2) Measure, and combine dry ingredients
3) Coat and season shrimp
4) Fry seasoned shrimp
5) How to eat this delicious Shabang of a dish LOCAL HAWAII STYLE!

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been teaching children, teens, and adults for the past 20 years in classrooms, community groups, and in casual home environment situations. The word Aloha is an expression used as both a greeting and a farewell. More importantly, it also carries the meaning of love and fellowship. In my classes, the “Aloha Spirit” takes the form of gentleness towards my students, patience while teaching new skills in crafting or cooking, and a sincere desire to serve both the students and families through the Outschool platform. My cooking classes consist of recipes that represent the many cultures of Hawaii.
