Do you love making simple recipes at school or at home? Recipes are a great way for learners to learn how to follow directions appropriately, working on those really important listening skills that will be helpful across all areas of school and home life. In this class, we will use simple techniques to make an individual serving of a mug cake. NOTE: THIS WILL REQUIRE THE USE OF A MICROWAVE TO COMPLETE THE RECIPES. After we make our cakes, we will have a bit of social time. We will discuss our likes and dislikes in cake flavors and ingredients and make suggestions for how to make each recipe even better. The recipe will be shared with the group after class. I will guide learners through each step of the directions. I will also be creating the recipe along with the learners, so they will get to see my modeled examples. I encourage active participation and allow questions to be asked throughout the class. During class, I observe all the learners and do several "check ins" to make sure everyone is following along and understands directions. **Ingredients** all purpose flour baking powder granulated white sugar milk oil vanilla extract sprinkles whipped cream (optional) **Supplies** --8 oz or bigger mug --2 forks --measuring spoons: 1 tablespoon, 1/2 tablespoon, 1 teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon, 1/4 teaspoon --towel or oven mitt **DUE TO THE NATURE OF THESE COURSES, WE MAY NOT ALWAYS END AT THE EXACT TIME LISTED FOR CLASS. We may end 5 minutes early or even go up to 15 minutes late. It depends on the amount of learners, discussions, questions, and difficulty of the projects. I love teaching, and I love my students as my own. I foster a positive classroom environment through encouragement, strong personal connections, clear classroom management and structure, and understanding. Each learner is unique and special, and I love celebrating each in their strengths and accomplishments. I am supportive of all needs and abilities. I like to keep the class size small so that I can be sure to know each learner individually. If you're looking for a loving and kind teacher to inspire your learner, I encourage you to try one of my classes. I can't WAIT to meet your learner soon!
