In this fun, Pete the Cat themed class, students will listen to the book "Pete the Cat Parent's Day Surprise" by Herman Parish. After listening to the story, students will learn to make brownies just like Amelia Bedelia took to her school bake sale! Students will learn to make really fun shaped pancakes from scratch that they can share with their parents after class! For our class, we will make vanilla flavored pancakes. K.K. has a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, a Masters of Health Administration, and a Masters of Professional Communication. Beyond her education, she has taught high school science and mathematics (Biology, Chemistry, Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Algebra 3, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus) for twelve years. K.K. also tutors students one on one in each of these academic courses.
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon white sugar 1 1/2 cups milk 1 egg 3 tablespoons melted butter chocolate chips, chocolate syrup, syrup and fruit to garnish (Students may use these to create animal eyes, spots, etc.) 1 mixing bowl 1 whisk or mixing tool 1 skillet 1 cutting utensil (knife and/or pizza cutter)
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This is a cooking class. Students will need help operating standard kitchen equipment like the stove and a cutting utensil.
